The event organised by Mr. Kaene Disepo, Founder of Change Africa and C-Suite Botswana was graced by Her Excellency Valerie Baraban, Ambassador of the French Embassy in Botswana and other key stakeholders. It's aim is to recognise the value of local tourism and to spotlight places like the Makompule Waterfalls as part of broader rural development, visibility and opportunity creation.
In his remarks, SPEDU Acting CEO Mr Othata Batsetswe pledged to support the Seolwane community by facilitating setting up of Seolwane community trust. This is to ensure that there is effective management of community assets and implementation of local projects.
The area will also undergo extensive profiling to unearth available natural resources and attractions, to be packaged and possibly used to source funding.
He stated that SPEDU continues to be committed to driving economic growth and development in the region through strategic partnerships and investment attraction.
