The Investment Promotion (IP) function plays a crucial role in attracting investment prospects to the SPEDU Region, thereby fostering the growth of the SPEDU Portfolio. Our dedicated IP department serves as the primary point of contact for potential investors seeking to establish their presence in our region. At this initial stage, we handle business inquiries, gather requirements, and conduct due diligence for potential investors. Our goal is not only to facilitate investment but also enhance the region’s reputation as a premier destination for investment across various priority sectors and their extensive value chains. 

The SPEDU Region boasts a range of infrastructure and amenities that provide excellent accessibility and connectivity for the seamless movement of goods and services. Some key features include: 

• An Industrial Zone with factory spaces and access to a railway line. 

• A High Voltage Power Network/ Substation. 

• Well-connected roads to major towns. 

• Convenient road access to major borders, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, and other parts of SADC. 

• An airport with a 1.8km runway. 

• Railway connectivity to the national rail network. 

• Quality of life services, including a primary hospital, private clinics, schools, and a shopping mall. 

• Four major dams ensuring a steady supply of raw and potable water. 

• Presence of commercial banks and professional service providers such as accountants and lawyers.

• Favorable conditions such as good soils, groundwater, a suitable climate, and reliable power and telephone connectivity.

• Opportunities for industrialization with the presence of silica sands.
• Rich flora and fauna.

others, include:

• Developing marketing and promotional strategies to showcase SPEDU’s investment opportunities and value proposition, thereby attracting investment. 

• Cultivating a conducive business environment by ensuring an attractive cost of doing business. 

• Establishing investment protocols to streamline the investment process. 

• Enhancing the branding and visibility of our region as an investment destination. 

• Assisting investors in accessing markets for their products. 

In line with these objectives, SPEDU has made significant progress in positioning the region as a competitive investment destination. The implementation of government approved Investment Incentives has further enhanced our ability to attract investors, leading to increased investment prospects, even amidst the challenges posed by the recent pandemic.
